Chilas is a city, and divisional capital of Diamer Locale found in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, on the Indus Waterway. It is a portion of the Silk Street associated with the Karakoram Thruway and N-90 National Interstate, which link it to Islamabad and Peshawar within the southwest, through Hazara and Malakand Divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Within the north, Chilas is associated with the Chinese cities of Tashkurgan and Kashgar in Xinjiang, through Gilgit, Aliabad, Sust, and the Khunjerab Pass.
Chilas comes under Gilgit-Baltistan. The climate is hot and dry within the summer and dry and cold within the winter. Chilas can become to through Karakurram thruway additionally from Kaghan valley passing through Babusar Pass. The forceful stream Indus passes through the Chilas valley. Once the Diamar Bhasha Dam is built, this city might not stay any longer as this range will be overflowed with dam water.
