Shah Ghaus Muhammad Gwaliory is considered among the great and glorious Saints and Mashaykhs of the Indian subcontinent. His ancestors came to India from Nishapur. He acquired the sciences of simulation and reasoning and pledged allegiance to Shaykh Hamida Wasila. When he first appeared in the service of Hazrat Shaykh Hameed, he felt every sense of spirituality in him and respected him. The spiritual greatness and position of Syed Muhammad Ghaus can be estimated from the fact that around fourteen streams of Sufism recognize him as their leader and guide.
Thanks to his spiritual and intellectual achievements, his fame is far and wide extended. Many spiritual leaders were among his devotees at that time and hundreds of people accepted Islam because of him. He died on the 15th of Ramadan 970 AH. His blessed shrine is still in Gwalior.
