The Samadhi (mausoleum) of Maharaja Ranjit Singh is the final resting place of one of the most celebrated figures in South Asian history. Located in Lahore, Pakistan, directly opposite the iconic Badshahi Mosque, it commemorates the founder of the Sikh Empire, who ruled from 1799 until his death in 1839. Known as the “Lion of Punjab,” his Samadhi is a testament to his secular rule and the rich cultural fusion that defined his empire.

In essence, the Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjit Singh is more than a tomb; it is a powerful symbol of Lahore’s layered history, representing a period of Sikh sovereignty and the pluralistic culture that flourished under the rule of its most famous leader.
